This is an Agritourism project that was born from the passion that unites the owners: The Land and the Family.

And what better space to experience these two passions than the century-old family home, birthplace of 4 generations! The owner's great-grandparents, grandparents, and parents passed through here.
The house was completely remodeled and expanded and is located on a property of approximately 15,000 square meters. The recollection and memories of those who passed through there remain there.
It has seven modern suites, a family house, a swimming pool with a salt system, surrounding gardens, and a lake. The agricultural part is mostly made up of carob trees and some fruit trees that are served to our guests.
Here you can experience and feel the sunrises and sunsets, the stillness of nature and the sounds of frogs, crickets, cicadas… You can breathe fresh air! We live in the rhythm of other times.
It has a privileged location as it is in the countryside without losing sight of the Sea, Our Beautiful Ria Formosa and the Fantastic Barrier Islands: Culatra, Armona, Deserta and Barreta, which makes this place… a Unique Place!

At Alfarrobeiras Nature, we believe that helping to reduce our ecological footprint is essential so that together we can enjoy a greener planet, both for ourselves and for future generations.
We prioritize the use of glass or polycarbonate in our spaces instead of disposable cups and bottles. The amenities placed in the suites are refillable dispensers, which prevents small bottles from being thrown away every day.
We have installed solar panels, thus seeking to reduce our dependence on non-renewable resources. For our gardens and orchard, we have taken care to choose species that consume little water.
We have planted around 110 carob trees on our property, hence the name of our Agrotourism: Alfarrobeiras Nature. This tree is a species that adapts very well to our region, since in the Algarve we have little water, especially in the summer when it does not rain. After 5 or 6 years of planting the Carob trees, these trees can even stop being watered without compromising the harvest of their fruits: the carob beans.
Our gardens/orchards are watered with water from a well on site that collects all the rainwater.
We also collect rainwater in a cistern for use when necessary, to replenish water in the swimming pool and for use in the toilets.
We also burn organic waste, particularly that resulting from breakfast. Coffee grounds are used as a natural fertilizer for our plants. For this reason, we do not use coffee machines with plastic capsules on the property. In the suites, we have installed coffee machines that use loose ground coffee and we invite our guests to deposit them in a special place so that we can reuse them.
We work with local suppliers and prioritize seasonal ingredients to reduce the carbon footprint associated with food transportation.
All suites and common areas have the option of dividing waste for recycling and we try to get our guests involved with us in this and other small gestures, such as reducing the number of towel changes.
